About Your Makeup and Hair Service:
- Pricing Policy:
- At Something Beauty House, we are dedicated to offering exceptional makeup and hair services. Our pricing policy is transparent and carefully structured to cater to your specific needs and preferences.
- Our service prices are based on single application or service per person. Additional services or changes in layout beyond the originally listed agreement are subject to extra charges, as detailed in our pricing structure provided to clients.
- Package Pricings: Included specific services as detailed in our service offerings and designed for single applications/services per person unless stated otherwise. Additional services not explicitly listed are considered additional and will incur separate charges.
- Our service prices are based on various factors, including hair length. Any deviations from the expected hair condition during your services may result in additional charges, which will be communicated and processed accordingly.
- Clients are advised to review service and package details thoroughly and inquire about any services not listed or any potential additional costs during consultation.
- Hair Styling Requirement: For dry styling services, clients are required to have dry and smooth hair. If pre-straightening may be necessary in case of extremely curly or frizzy hair, an additional fee of $50 will apply.
Deposits:
- Deposit Payment:
- A 30% (50% for wedding services) deposit is required to secure your booking with Something Beauty House.
- This deposit is deducted from the final service cost and does not serve as an upfront payment for the service.
- Deposits are necessary to secure your booking, help us manage and schedule our resources effectively, ensuring that we can provide the best possible service to all our clients.
- No-Deposit Cases: In certain special circumstances, such as when a quote or invoice is not provided prior to service delivery, or in other scenarios deemed appropriate by Something Beauty House, you may not be required to pay a deposit. In these instances, full payment is due upon receipt of the invoice after services are rendered. This ensures that our services are compensated in a timely manner.
- Cancellation Policy:
- We understand that plans can change, and we encourage our clients to communicate any potential cancellations and rescheduling needs as early as possible to avoid inconveniences.
- Cancellations or rescheduling outside of 15 days (30 days for services/bookings costing more than $500) will receive credit valid for 12 months.
- Cancellations or rescheduling within 15 days (30 days for services/bookings costing more than $500) will forfeit the deposit and any additional fees that are required to pay upfront (for example, travel fee).
- A ‘No show’ or failure to attend a scheduled appointment will also forfeit the deposit and any additional fees that are required to pay upfront (for example, travel fee).
- In no-deposit cases, cancellations within the specified time frame will still be subject to the cancellation policy, with the applicable fees invoiced to you.
- A minimum of $100 cancellation fee applies for reserving your booking, preparing the tools and equipment, and other administrative work.
- Late Payment Policy: If payment is not received by the due date listed on the original invoice, a late payment fee of 10% per week will be applied to overdue balances. This applies equally to no-deposit cases.
- Unpaid Invoices: Unpaid invoices will be forwarded to a third party for collection after 14 days, with associated collection costs incurred by the customer. We reserve the right to pursue legal action for recovery of the overdue balances plus any late payment fees and collection costs. This applies equally to no-deposit cases.
Balance Due:
Timely payments are crucial for the smooth execution of our services and help us maintain the high standards of Something Beauty House.
- Balance Payment:
- The balance is due one week before the service date.
- An invoice for the remaining payment will be sent approximately 2 weeks (30 days for services/bookings costing more than $500) before the service day.
- Failure to make payment may result in service cancellation, with the forfeit of the deposit, at our discretion.
- Last-Minute Bookings: Bookings made within 7 days of the appointment date require full payment upfront.
Changes to Booking:
We understand that adjustments may be needed, and we strive to accommodate booking changes with minimal disruption.
- Booking Changes:
- Changes to the service date can be made at least 15 days (30 days for services/bookings costing more than $500) before the original booking without additional cost.
- Changes within 15 days (30 days for services/bookings costing more than $500) are subject to a modification fee. This fee covers the administrative and planning adjustments required for last-minute changes.
- Team Unavailability: If no team member is available for the re-booked date, a credit will be given.
Unforeseen Circumstances:
In the rare event of unforeseen circumstances, Something Beauty House is committed to finding the best possible solutions and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Definition: Unforeseen circumstances include, but are not limited to, severe weather events, natural disasters, illness, or sudden team unavailability.
- Team Unavailability Due to Illness or Unforeseen Events:
- In the unlikely event of our whole team’s unavailability due to illness, such as COVID, or unforeseen circumstances, payments will be immediately refunded, excluding and upfront fees (such as travel fee) that are already paid to a third party and unrecoverable by us. Alternative arrangements will be explored, but any new bookings remain the client’s responsibility.
- In case a team member is unable to attend on the day due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, Something Beauty House will make immediate efforts to secure an alternative freelance stylist/artist. If this is not feasible, services that are forfeited, in part, or altogether, as a result will be refunded, excluding and upfront fees (such as travel fee) that are already paid to a third party and unrecoverable by us. No further compensation will be offered.
- Professional Conduct: Something Beauty House reserves the right to cancel the contract without a refund if a team member feels uncomfortable, mistreated, or encounters abusive/violent behaviour or offensive conduct.
- Extreme Weather Conditions: In the event of extreme weather conditions with a ‘Severe Weather/Thunderstorm Warning’ issued by the Bureau of Meteorology, Something Beauty House may cancel the booking due to unsafe travel conditions. A full refund will be provided as a gesture of goodwill.
- Rescheduling Agreement:
- In the event of team unavailability due to illness or unforeseen events, clients agree to be flexible regarding rescheduling.
- Something Beauty House will make every effort to maintain the highest quality service, potentially involving alternative team members.
Travel Fee:
Our travel fee structure is designed to be reasonable and transparent, reflecting the actual costs of providing our services at your chosen location. There are 3 components in the travel fee, including travel expenses, accommodation expenses, and exclusive reservation fees. All quoted travel fees are exclusive of GST.
- Travel Expenses:
- Travel expenses start from $100 and vary based on the number of stylists and travel distance. This helps cover the cost of organising, packing, and transporting our tools and equipment to your location.
- Please note, our travel expense structure is based on current arrangements with third-party services like Uber and is subject to change. We will update our clients if there are any modifications to this fee structure.
- Rural, interstate, and international bookings incur an additional fee – Please check your specific quote for further details on your estimated additional fee as this depends on many conditions, such as travel time and distance.
- In cases where our staff’s safety and health necessitate air travel, such as for interstate bookings, the client is responsible for covering the cost of return flight tickets. Clients can either book the flights or we will book the flights.
-
-
- Should clients opt to book flights, we request that all necessary services, such as checked-in baggage, are included. This ensures our team can provide the best possible service without any disruptions.
- If we book flights on your behalf, we will invoice you this fee upfront. Please note, this amount is payable immediately upon receipt of the invoice to ensure timely arrangements.
-
- Accommodation Expenses:
-
- Clients will be expected to cover all costs for hotel accommodation in cases where it is not practical for a stylist/artist to travel on the day of the service. This includes situations where limited time is available to travel on the day of service (such as early start time or late finish time) or severe weather conditions have been forecast.
- Clients can either book the accommodation or we will book the accommodation.
- Should clients opt to book accommodation, we request that all necessary services, such as room services for accommodation, are included. This ensures our team can provide the best possible service without any disruptions.
- If we book accommodation on your behalf, we will invoice you this fee upfront. Please note, this amount is payable immediately upon receipt of the invoice to ensure timely arrangements.
- Exclusive reservation fee:
- We are committed to provide you with the best possible services. As such, we cannot accept bookings during travel time to your location, or while on standby at your event for the next services (for example, you are booking a touch up and layout change service on top of your original makeup service). Hence, these are charged to compensate for the period where our staff is exclusively reserved for your service, including travel time and standby time at your event. Clients will be expected to cover this exclusive reservation of our staff.
- This fee will be calculated based on the duration of exclusivity required – please confirm the final travel fee either with us or you invoice.
Early Mornings:
- Early Bird Fee: For services before 7 am, an ‘Early Bird’ fee per makeup artist/hair stylist applies – Please check your specific quote for further details. The ‘Early Bird’ fee compensates for additional preparation time and resources required for services provided before 7 am.

Client safety and satisfaction are paramount at Something Beauty House. We appreciate your cooperation in reporting any allergies or skin conditions to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
- Allergies:
- Clients are required to report any allergies and skin conditions to the makeup artist before application.
- If necessary, a sample test of makeup may be conducted on the skin to assess any potential reactions.
- Something Beauty House is not liable for reactions unless a list of potential reactive ingredients is provided before applying makeup/hair products.
- Hygiene:
- All brushes, tools, and makeup products utilised by Something Beauty House are meticulously cleaned and sanitized between each makeup application. We also use disposable, one-time applicators to ensure hygiene and cleanliness.
- Makeup and hair products employed are of high quality and well-known brand to ensure the well-being of our clients and the standard of our services.
- Contagious Illness:
- In the event of any contagious illness, such as conjunctivitis, eye sties/cysts, cold sores, open wounds/cuts on the face and neck, staph infection, head lice, or flu, it is a must to promptly notify Something Beauty House.
- We maintain the right to decline service to individuals with contagious illnesses. This measure is implemented to safeguard the integrity of the stylist’s kit and brushes, despite our thorough sanitisation procedures between clients.
- Unforeseen circumstances:
- While we strive to provide exceptional service, we are not liable for unforeseen circumstances that may arise during travel or on-location services. We recommend clients have suitable insurance to cover any such eventualities.
Photography and Image Copyright:
- Usage of Images:
- We understand the importance of showcasing our work in our portfolio to benefit prospective clients.
- Clients who prefer not to be photographed, or have their images used for social media purposes or published online, are kindly requested to express their preference via written email in advance to opt out.
- We are delighted to be part of your special day and are open to being photographed during weddings. However, any images featuring our team in action or displaying our hair and/or makeup designs, when used on the internet or in any form of advertisement, must include proper reference or credit to acknowledge us as the hair and/or makeup artists.
Your comfort and privacy are important to us. Please let us know if you have any preferences regarding the use of your images, and we will respect your wishes.
Communication Policy:

We encourage clients to communicate any concerns or questions promptly to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience.
- Communication Expectations: Timely and clear communication is essential. Although we strive to make our communications regarding our services as clear and transparent as possible, clients are encouraged to ask questions or express concerns regarding our services or pricing at the earliest opportunity. Absence of such inquiries upon completing booking our services will be considered as understanding and acceptance of our terms and conditions. Booking is considered completed and secured when you pay the deposit or payment in full, or in special circumstances where an invoice or quote is not provided to you before you receive our services, a confirmation from us and your acknowledgment of date and/or time of service.
Dispute Resolution:
- Amicable Resolution:
- In the event of a dispute or misunderstanding, we aim for an amicable resolution. Both parties commit to engaging in open and constructive dialogue. The goal is to achieve an amicable resolution promptly. Mediation may be pursued before legal action if a resolution cannot be reached through direct communication.
- Courtesy waivers or discounts offered in dispute resolutions are contingent upon adherence to the agreed payment terms and original due date. In cases of non-compliance or payment is not received within 15 days of the original due date, such waivers may be revoked, and the original invoiced amount reinstated. We encourage clients to communicate any concerns promptly for a mutual resolution.
Privacy Policy:
- Data Protection: Client information, such as contact details and service preferences, is collected solely for the purpose of providing our services and is strictly confidential, protected in accordance with the Privacy Policy Act 1988. We adhere to strict legal standards for data protection, ensuring that your personal information is always handled with the utmost confidentiality and care.
